An Introduction

Since 1981, Sekolah Latihan Teknikal PETRONAS has been established at Kuala Terengganu  to train the first 6 field operator. Now, this institution has known as Institut Teknologi Petroleum PETRONAS (INSTEP) with the capacity around 700 trainees in one time. 

On 17 September 2011, this institution has been administrated by PETRONAS Technical Training Sdn. Bhd, (PTTSB), a wholly owned company by PETRONAS.
